Following up to yesterday’s blog about Albright exploding at “Serbs” at a book signing in Prague, I wanted to add a few things about my reaction to the film director’s show of solidarity with the Palestinians, via the keffiyeh around his neck. Aside from making me feel excluded and therefore taking away my ability to root for him, he also made himself more dismissible than he might otherwise be. Visually, he has classified himself as a lefty who is against all wars as equally bad and opposes Western policy in general. While that is a legitimate and common viewpoint, it takes away from the singularity of the West’s greatest crime: its war on the Serbs who, unlike some other targets of our aggression did literally nothing to deserve it. And that’s only one aspect that makes that particular military intervention unique. So he distracted from the message and undermined his gravitas.
In case it seems like I’m overreacting, think of the menace that a Serb feels when someone flaunts the double-headed red and black eagle, or how it must feel in Kosovo to pass by any of the monuments to the Serbs’ killers. And so imagine being a pro-Israel Serb and seeing someone show up at an event to support Israel wearing that symbol, or the Croatian red and white checkered banner under which Serbs were slaughtered. It’s actually worse, since these two other examples are national symbols as well, whereas the keffiyeh — worn by Muslims of all nationalities — never had a physical country to represent, but an awful lot of killing. It’s a symbol of Arab solidarity, and if you think about it, that solidarity rests on one thing, given that they’re otherwise at each other’s throats: they’re unified by their hatred of Jews.
Forgive me for raining on the parade, but mine was rained on first, when I was left out.
Closing with a few updates:
I didn’t realize Albright threw a paper at the activists until I read this article by International Business Journal, which also got wind of the incident.
As for her calling the Czechs “disgusting Serbs,” I neglected to point out that, apparently, not only does supporting Serbs make you a Serb, but it also makes you a war criminal, which is what she called them after they called her such. The premise, of course, being that Serbs are war criminals by definition. As reader Jovan expressed it, “So, according to her, only Serbs can side with the Serbs. So if you’re Czech, German, Italian, American….etc, and you take sides with the Serbs that technically makes you….well, not just a Serb, but a DISGUSTING Serb at that!”
People of conscience, meaning people who care about what the world did to the Serbs, are applauding a group of Czech activists who confronted the female war criminal Madeleine Albright at a book signing in Prague last week. As is widely known, Not-at-albright is prone to exploiting her nation of birth and inverting the lessons of Munich, not least so she could continue Hitler’s work in the 90s.
The protestors, Friends of Kosovo Serbs, returned from Kosovo a couple weeks ago, where they delivered humanitarian aid and raised awareness about the plight of non-Albanian minorities. Last Wednesday, the group’s understated approach was enough for Albright — who has probably caused her Czech-diplomat father to turn in his grave enough times to have died twice — to show her true colors, and Clinton-like temper. Within moments, the 75-year-old lost her cool and commanded, as demons and angry spirits will often do, “Get out!”
She then easily hissed the phrase “Disgusting Serbs” (as Esprit de Corps editor Scott Taylor pointed out in an email: imagine a public figure yelling, “Disgusting Jews,” or “Disgusting Koreans,” or “Disgusting Blacks,” or “Disgusting Muslims.”). Finally, she showed the lack of gravitas that should have kept her far from the corridors of power, when she responded to someone calling her a war criminal with “You’re a war criminal!”
Here she was adhering to the grown-up rule, “I’m the rubber and you’re the glue. Whatever you call me bounces off and sticks to you.”
So Czechs are war criminals for doing what she’s lauded Czechs for traditionally doing: standing up to tyranny.
I myselfhaveoftencommendedthe Czechs, who were all too aware that the Kosovo giveaway was Munich Redux, and who were in an uproar when their government recognized stolen Kosovo. So I was excited to view the video, but it was ruined for me in the first moment. To my heartbreak, the lead agitator and vice chairman of the group, Vaclav Dvorak — who also directed the important documentary “Stolen Kosovo” — was wearing the popular Jew-killer scarf. The Palestinian Keffiyah. Made famous by the father of modern terrorism, Yasser Arafat.
And so what sort of coherence did his message have? After all, he is approaching with a pro-Muslim symbol, a bigger pro-Muslim. A woman who did more for the Muslims/Palestinians than any previous secretary of state. In fact, after giving away the Serbian Jerusalem to the Muslims, she did her best to give away the other Jerusalem to the Muslims. The ridiculous rag around Dvorak’s neck diluted and confused his message. Nor is it coherent to be a “Friend of Serbs,” yet take the side of those who massacred the Serbs, destroyed their country, and robbed them of their national identity.
It was Muslims who hired the PR firms to get the whole world to attack the Serbs, and the mujahedeen from Kuwaitis to Palestinians who dismembered them. And Albright was a key player in it all.
How disappointing and flaky. The Curse of Defending Serbs strikes again: something always goes wrong, and we shoot ourselves in the foot.
For me, this is very sad and hurtful. We hear the NATO garbage about how the current military leg of the Serb-eradication is merely “ensuring freedom of movement.” Yet it seems the director of “Stolen Kosovo” supports freedom of movement for Palestinians to continue slaughtering my people.
For that reason, I won’t be seeking wider distribution to larger sites about this event. The bigger bloggers and editors who — against much criticism — have trusted me on the Balkans issue will only be left confused, and wary. Regardless, it seems the incident is gaining wider publicity without me, as it was written of in The Atlantic: “Madeleine Albright’s Scrap With Pro-Serbian Activists in a Prague Bookstore.”
One can only marvel at the likes of Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman, who sees the Munich in “Kosova,” and in “Palestine.”
A killer who colluded with a lying friend in a bid to beat a murder rap has found that three of the county’s top judges are not as gullible as he hoped they would be.
Moraj Semaj was one of a gang of Albanians armed with sticks who, following an earlier row, stormed into the ‘Burning Balti’ takeaway, in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, in April 2004 and savagely beat 31-year-old father, Kalvinder Singh, 31, to death.
Semaj, an illegal immigrant, went to ground for a year after the killing but finally gave himself up after the case was featured on ‘Crimewatch’. On the basis of ‘joint enterprise’, he was found guilty of the murder at Manchester Crown Court in November 2005 and jailed for life.
He has always denied the killing, insisting he went to the Burning Balti unarmed, that he had nothing to do with Mr Mr Singh’s fatal injuries and that the principal prosecution witness at his trial - referred to in court only as ‘B’ - was lying to protect himself.
Seven years after he was jailed, Semaj took his case to London’s Appeal Court where his legal team presented fresh evidence from a close friend of his, who said that ‘B’ had told him that Semaj “had nothing to do with the murder and had been caught in the middle”.
However, the President of the Queen’s Bench Division, Sir John Thomas, was unconvinced and threw out Semaj’ appeal, ruling that his friend’s testimony was riddled with lies and had ‘not a shred of credibility’.
The judge, sitting with Mr Justice Foskett and Sir Geoffrey Grigson, added that he was ’sure’ that Semaj had deliberately ‘colluded’ in his friend’s attempt to convince the court with his ‘dishonest and deceitful evidence’.
The only credible explanation, he said, was that Semaj and his friend had together ‘invented’ his account ‘as a gambit to try and find a new ground of appeal when all else had failed’.
Some background on the incident and the cases of the three men involved:
A man has been convicted of murdering a 31-year-old father-of-two at a curry house in north Manchester last April.
Police still want to trace three men in connection with the killing, named as Emirjan Hysaj, 29 (nicknamed Yani), Alfred Kurti, 21, (Ardi) and Artan Hysaj, 28 (Taci).
A MAN has been jailed for life for being part of a savage racist attack that led to a father-of-two dying from head injuries.
Marjan Semaj, an illegal Albanian immigrant who was working in Manchester under a false name, was told he would serve a minimum of 12 years after being found guilty of the murder of Kalvinder Singh, known as Bob.
Mr Singh and two of his friends were attacked by a gang of Albanians in the Burning Balti takeaway on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.
They called Mr Singh’s friends white bastards and later taunted him for being with them.
Mr Singh’s party had called in at the takeaway after a night out in the city centre. There one of the Albanians began shouting at them and this led to a scuffle outside. The man and his companion ran off but returned later with a gang carrying sticks and lumps of wood.
They set about Mr Singh and his companions. Mr Sign ended up on the floor where his head was stamped upon.
Semaj, aged 22, was identified as a man who had been working in Manchester for a bus company using another name.
He eventually turned himself in at a police station.
Police are still looking for his suspect accomplices Emirjan Hysaj, aged 29 and nicknamed Yani; Alfred Kurti, 21, nicknamed Ardi and Artan Hysaj , 28 and nicknamed Taci. […]
…Emirjan Hysaj, 34, who denied murder, has been sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to [at] least 16 years in prison.
Hysaj, of no fixed address, was extradited from Italy in February 2009 before being charged by police.
In November 2005, Moraj Semaj, 22, who is originally from Albania, was jailed for 12 years for killing Mr Singh.
Police said they are still looking for Alfred Kurti, 26, nicknamed Ardi, in connection with Mr Singh’s murder.
Mr Bottomley said: “We know Alfred Kurti went to Ireland immediately after Bob’s death, but since then he could have travelled anywhere.
“We want anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch and help us complete this case.”
…Emirjan Hysaj, 34, was extradited from Italy under a European arrest warrant in February 2009.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment on Thursday 11 February 2010 and will serve a minimum of 16 years before he will be considered for parole.
On Friday 9 April 2004 Singh had been enjoying a night out in Manchester with friends.
At 2.30am, having decided to get some food on the way home, Bob and his friends went into the Burning Balti takeaway restaurant on Cheetham Hill Road. They noticed a number of other people already inside the restaurant, including two men.
One of the men began shouting at one of Bob’s friends in a foreign language, believed to have been Albanian.
Two of Bob’s friends, Wayne Sykes and Roy White tried to calm the man down but ended up outside where a scuffle broke out.
Roy and another of the friends, Jaswant Singh, chased the man before walking back towards the takeaway.
On the way back they noticed a car with four men inside. Fearing it was the men from the takeaway, they ran home.
A short time later, a group of five men, all armed with sticks and pieces of wood, returned to the restaurant. One man was recognised as having been involved in the scuffle earlier.
They attacked Bob, a completely innocent bystander, along with Andrew Smith and Wayne Sykes. As Bob lay on the floor they hit him repeatedly with a piece of wood and stamped on his head.
Singh was taken by ambulance to North Manchester General Hospital suffering from head injuries, and a fractured skull and cheekbones. He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Hope Hospital where he died on Monday 26 April 2004.
Sykes was also taken to the North Manchester General Hospital after suffering a fractured skull. He is now permanently deaf in his right ear. Smith was treated for superficial injuries.
Finally, I didn’t know that UK media had reported it as a “white”-on-Asian killing. I found out from this site, run by Sikhs who didn’t fall for it:
The press were calling it a race attack by a white man on an innocent Asian man, but in reality the murderer was an Albanian, Muslim immigrant.
…The attack happened after another Albanian man in the group called Mr Singh’s friends “white [bastard]s” in a takeaway. The fact that the group were using racist taunts against the British whites in the group made no difference to the media, who then reported that this was a racist attack by a white man against an innocent Sikh! The thug left, but returned and attacked father-of-two Mr Singh, of New Moston, Greater Manchester, and his white friends. One other person in the group, a white male also suffered a fractured skull, Manchester Crown Court heard.
So a Sikh gets killed by a Muslim racist and in the brave new world of Islamic Britain the authorities play down the Islamic content. […]
WASHINGTON — The US National Weather Service computer network was hacked this week, with a group from Kosovo claiming credit and posting sensitive data, security experts said Friday.
Data released by the Kosovo Hackers Security group includes directory structures, sensitive files of the Web server and other data that could enable later access, according to Chrysostomos Daniel of the security firm Acunetix.
“The hacker group stated that the attack is a protest against the US policies that target Muslim countries,” Daniel said.
“Moreover, the attack was a payback for hacker attacks against nuclear plants in Muslim countries, according to a member of the hacking group who said, ‘They hack our nuclear plants using STUXNET and FLAME-like malwares, they are bombing us 27*7, we can’t sit silent — hack to payback them.”
Paul Roberts, writing on the Sophos Naked Security blog, said the leaked information includes a listing of administrative account names, which could open the hacked servers to subsequent “brute force attacks.”
“Little is known about the group claiming responsibility for the attack,” he said.
“However, they allege that the weather.gov hack was just one of many US government hacks the group had carried out and that more releases are pending.”
The weather service did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Really? Little is known about the group? One wonders if that’s because we designated Kosovo terrorists as our allies and have been trying desperately to know as little as possible about them. And yet what an opportunity we’ve evaded affording us precisely to know and foresee a lot, given our position in Kosovo housing the LARGEST FOREIGN U.S MILITARY BASE SINCE VIETNAM.
Little is known? Well here’s something from freaking 2009, giving us a clue to get a move on knowing:
A group of hackers from Kosovo defaced 15 Serbian websites on Tuesday night, including those of high profile firms, government departments and museums.
The hackers, known as Kosova Hackers Group, posted the same, Albanian double-headed eagle and message on each website. The targets included the Serbian Ministry of Defence.
Their message reads: “Hello Serbs, now wonder why you see it on this particular page?? We do it because we can and we will continue to do so.
“Now the fact is that we are p*ssed off at both you and EULEX [for] sign[ing] agreements which do not concern you.”
The group also hacked into the website of EULEX, the European rule of law mission in Kosovo, last month in protest against plans to sign a policing protocol with Serbia’s interior ministry.
Hackers posted messages on the European Union’s Kosovo mission official Web site claiming the bloc’s police mission wants to return Kosovo to Serb rule.
Friday’s attack on the Web site comes a day after a local court sentenced 20 ethnic Albanians to a month in prison for puncturing tires and smashing windows on some 24 vehicles of the EU mission, known as EULEX.
Kosovo’s ethnic Albanian leaders object to a EULEX deal with with Serbia’s police to exchange information, fearing it undermines Kosovo’s statehood.
The hackers posted a message saying: “You can not sell our country back to Serbia…As we said Welcome, we can say Goodbye, too.”
It wasn’t the first time EULEX and Serbs were targeted together. The year that the world again gave Albanians what they demanded, and as stewardship was about to pass to EULEX, we got this:
An unknown Albanian group on Thursday claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a European Union office in Kosovo earlier this month and warned of attacks against the Serb minority.
The obscure group, calling itself “Army of the Republic of Kosovo - ARK” sent its threatening e-mail to authorities, the media and international organizations in Kosovo.
It warned of “strikes with full force” because of a new United Nations plan for Kosovo…The UN and Belgrade have agreed that the EU’s mission, Eulex, would be “status-neutral” and remain under UN command in areas dominated by Serbs….
“Unless the UN plan is withdrawn … we will strike with our full force. There will be no security for Serbs who live in Kosovo,” the ARK e-mail said, promising to “chop off Kosovo Serb heads and send them to Serb politicians.”
The purported group also threatened to bomb Eulex if it remains neutral to the status of Kosovo and to “start a new conflict, not only in Kosovo.” […]
So many foreseeable and then knowable “unknowns” concerning Kosovo!
And certainly one notes the pattern of the Albanian side seeing the West — despite its doing everything to appease Albanians — as ‘working for Belgrade’ whenever there a slowdown in appeasement. The U.S. in particular never rests in delivering for the Albanian mafia, so the rhetorical question remains: Why are the anti-Serb, anti-EULEX hackers going after the U.S. Weather Service? Unless, of course, they see American and Serbian infidels as one and the same. In which case, when will we?
Tangentially, I’m only now cluing into a news item about an American jihadist who was planning to blow up the Federal Reserve. Robert Spencer writes:
While Green was superintendent, Jayyousi oversaw the Detroit school district’s capital improvement program. Later, Jayyousi was charged, according to the Detroit Free Press, with “conspiring to kidnap, maim and murder by providing money, recruits and equipment for Islamic struggles in Bosnia, Kosovo and Chechnya from 1993 to 2001.”
What? Islamist struggles in Bosnia and Kosovo? We were told that’s what they weren’t! In fact, we were warned of supremacist Christian Serb terrorism, no?
Secondarily, Kosovo just keeps on coming up, doesn’t it?
ZAGREB — The police and the public prosecution in Croatia “are considering” launching procedures against Split Mayor and Croatian parliament member Željko Kerum.
Željko Kerum (file)
Kerum, who was previously quoted as saying that he “did not wish to have a Serb son-in-law”, and that “Serbs must know their place”, told the country’s state broadcaster HRT over the weekend that Serbs were “the source of all problems in Croatia”.
According to the Croatian official, this ethnic minority “controls the media and the money”.
(See “Thank god my wife is neither a Serb nor a Jew” — Croatian wartime president, backed by the world, Franjo Tudjman)
…Even Jadranka Kosor - who as the leader of the HDZ made it possible for Kerum to become an MP by including him in the party list - reacted to say that the statements “deserved every condemnation”, as they went contrary to the country’s Constitution, “and many laws”.
But not to Croatian nature. (She just said that the words deserve condemnation, not because of any moral issue, but because of how Croatia is on paper. Remember, it’s all about getting into the EU next year.)
Indeed, we know that the problem for Croatia here — and therefore the uproar — is Croatians feel exposed by this guy, who voices their own innards..
Bosnian Army gathers in Zenica. (The main white guy surveying the “troops” is President Izetbegovic, our “Western-facing democrat trying to build a multi-ethnic Bosnia.”)
“It is no coincidence that since the mid-1990s a distressing number of the most wanted terrorists around the globe turned out to have cut their teeth in the Bosnian crucible.”
[Two] out of the 19 hijackers on the 9/11 airplanes are veterans of the Bosnian Jihad and served as soldiers in the Bosnian Muslim army.
“Disillusioned and embittered by the gross shortcomings of our ‘best and brightest’ and nearly everything they said about Bosnia, I swore to tell the real story someday, when I was free to do so…
“I don’t think it’s coincidental that during the 1992-95 war, the SDA-run government in Sarajevo hired some big-name PR firms in Washington DC, which proved successful at selling the pro-Sarajevo view of the conflict to the U.S. public, particularly via CNN.
Years later, long after 9/11 had changed the world and the war in Bosnia was all but forgotten, I found myself at a drinks reception at a London think tank. I fell into conversation with a war crimes lawyer who worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia in the Hague. I related this story to him [of being held by al Qaeda in Bosnia].
“When was this?” he asked. “In November 1993,” I said.
His eyes widened. “Do you have any idea how much trouble you were in?” he said.
“It was a few months after the first attack on the World Trade Centre in New York which killed six people,” he added.
But, but the Muslims in the Balkans are all supposed to be “moderates” who love America and abhor Islamic supremacism! “Report: ‘Christians Flee Bosnia Amid Discrimination, Islamization,’” by Stefan J. Bos for BosNewsLife, October 12 (thanks to Lachlan):
SARAJEVO, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA (BosNewsLife)– Christians are massively leaving post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina amid mounting discrimination and Islamization, according to a new report released Friday, October 12.
“Many believers leave the country since war raged 20 years ago,” said Netherlands-based advocacy and aid group Kerk in Nood, or ‘Church in Need’, in the report obtained by BosNewsLife.
There are just 440,000 Catholics left in the Balkan nation, half the prewar figure, the group said.
The report came on the heels of talks between the cardinal of Sarajevo, Vinko Puljic, and European Council President Herman van Rompuy about difficulties faced by Bosnia’s Christians.
Puljic reportedly complained that while dozens of mosques were build in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, no building permissions were given for Christian churches.
“The cardinal already waits 13 years on permission to build just a small church,” Church in Need said. Authorities so far refused to return hundreds of nationalized church buildings, despite a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights to do so, according to Christian officials.
Additionally tens of thousands of people, many of them Catholic Croats, have been prevented from returning home following the war, Church in Need said. These obstacles violate the Dayton peace accords that ended the 1992-1995 Bosnian War, which split the nation between a Serb republic and a Muslim-Croat federation.
“Time is running out as there is a worrisome rise in radicalism,” Puljic said, who added that the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina were “persecuted for centuries” after European powers “failed to support them in their struggle against the Ottoman Empire.”…
As Jim Jatras commented, “Article about Catholic Croats’ difficulties in increasingly Islamized ‘Federation of BiH’?…What did they think was going to happen when they allied with the Muslims?”
THE ITEM GOES HAND IN HAND WITH THIS ONE, FROM JUST LAST MONTH:
WARSAW, Poland — Catholic leaders in Bosnia-Herzegovina said real ethnic and religious dialogue is not occurring and not all religions have equal rights.
“Real dialogue” is being impeded by “legalized war crimes and injustices,” as well as by failure to implement the peace accord that ended the country’s 1992-95 war, said Msgr. Ivo Tomasevic, secretary-general of Bosnian bishops’ conference.
Tomasevic welcomed a September interfaith peace appeal, issued in Sarajevo after an international peace meeting sponsored by the Rome-based Sant’Egidio Community….
However, in an interview Wednesday with Catholic News Service, he said the country still lacks a firm foundation for religious and ethnic coexistence.
“…our Catholic population has almost halved and the Catholic presence in Sarajevo is dwindling year by year.”
Earlier, the president of the Bosnian bishops’ conference told the Croatian daily Vecernji List that he had questioned claims at the meeting that his country offered an example of religious and ethnic reconciliation.
“In no other European country has the plight of Catholics been as dramatic as here — at least half have left, and those who remain have problems finding a roof over their heads, food, jobs and conditions for life,” Bosnian Bishop Franjo Komarica of Banja Luka said in the interview, published Sunday.
“I pointed this out many times during the meeting and was warned participants knew nothing about these things,” he added. “I accepted this, although I don’t know whether people are uninformed, or rather uninterested.”
Bosnian newspapers said Bosnia’s Grand Mufti Mustafa Ceric had rejected complaints by Catholic and Orthodox leaders at the meeting that growing Muslim domination had left Christians with no future in Sarajevo.
WELL, the retiring Grand Mufti of Bosnia doesn’t see a problem, so there must not be a problem. Perhaps that’s why he may be in the running for a leading position with the Muslim Brotherhood. So far, this is the only report, via Google Translate: “Ceric, Head of the Muslim Brotherhood?”
The outgoing head of the Islamic Community, Mustafa Ceric, the most serious candidate to succeed Yusuf Qaradawi, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood…
“Ceric is no different from other extremist Muslim Brotherhood officials, radical views but hides, presenting ambiguous talk”, according to an analysis [by] Bera Millard, a former USAID Coordinator for Sudan and the author of several books that examine issues of contemporary terrorism.
Ber states that Kardavi in later years, and that the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood actively looking for his successor, and Ceric, the door is wide open, because after 19 years he went from the head of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and the Muslim Brotherhood for decades has strong ties, according to “The Voice of Serbian”.
The analysis, published by the Institute for Economic Affairs, said that Ceric associated with the Muslim Brotherhood almost as much as Kardavi, and to participate in the work of the British organization “Radical Middle Way”, which brings together scholars and theologians associated with the Brotherhood.
“Ceric messages in English are peaceful and full of tolerance, while sermons dedicated [to] Muslims and Arabs, hateful. Within our own country Ceric promotes anything but peace. It calls Muslims to hate “ungodly” who publicly and directly threatened violence. His speeches exacerbate tensions and reduce any possibility of reconciliation. Ceric [threatens] non-governmental organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina for alleged Islamophobia, according to the analysis.
Baer adds that Ceric played an important role in the war in the former Yugoslavia, whose collapse the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, ayatollahs in Iran, the Islamists in Sudan, the royal family of Saudi Arabia and mujaheddin wanted to use for the creation of an Islamic state in the Balkans.
Ceric in 1987…served as imam at the [Islamic] Center of Zagreb, and among his friends [was] a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Fatih Hasanein, who is originally from Sudan [and] educated in Yugoslavia. Al-Hasanein is co-founder of the Third World [Relief Agency], fake charities that [helped in] arming the mujahideen in the Balkans, said Baer.
He adds that Ceric, and shortly after that time [wartime president Alija] Izetbegovic directly participated in the National Arab-Islamic Conference founded in Sudan, which is considered a terrorist organization by the international TA.
“In addition, there were members [of] CIRKL, an organization that served to finance terrorist activities. […]
Yes, this is the leader of those “non-religious-secular-European-pork-eating-alcohol-consuming-Muslims” that we helped so they wouldn’t go in the direction that Muslims go in. Yes, this is the guy who gets invited to all those interfaith dialogues, including at synagogues in Birmingham. Since Ceric has been proclaimed a “moderate” Muslim, one supposes it’s the moderates who will lead the vanguard of Jihad. According to Serbianna.com proprietor Mickey Bozinovich, who emailed me the Ceric-Brotherhood item, “Saudis and Kuwaities have been opening Ceric’s doors for a long time, schooling him, and placing him at Harvard and other schools in the US so as to appear like a ‘moderate’ and establish a network of friendly media and political figures who need an example of a moderate Muslim in order to shield themselves from accusations of Islamophobia.”
Earlier this year, Mickey informed me that Ceric is also friends with the Saudi Sheik Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah — who in April decreed that all churches be destroyed. “The Bosnian Ceric and the Saudi Abdul are fixtures at some dialogue of cultures where Muslims want to foist their rule over Jews and Christians,” Mickey wrote. “This particular Saudi Abdul is powerful because lots of Muslims listen to him….Keep in mind, Saudis have the largest mosques in Bosnia, most of the money funding their Imam and lots of sway.”
Now, the name Hasanein (or Hassanein) coming up in a Ceric context recalls this revealing 2008 writing by a Bosnian-Muslim apologist:
COMMENTARY DETAILS ROLE OF NGO IN SPREADING WAHHABI ISLAM IN BOSNIA
BBC Monitoring International Reports - January 10, 2008
Text of commentary by Adi Halvo: “I witnessed establishment and work of TWRA organization,” published by Bosnian Serb privately-owned centrist newspaper Nezavisne Novine, on 5 January
The statement by the Hague tribunal’s chief prosecutor, Carla Del Ponte, to the German Der Spiegel of 18 October 2007, that the tribunal could prove that the president of the B-H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, was paying mojahedin to come to Bosnia-Hercegovina, is really dangerous for the position of the Bosnian Muslims amid the current anti-Islamic paranoia.
The closest relatives of the wartime president of the B-H Presidency requested that Carla Del Ponte deny this statement publicly, which she did by saying that Alija Izetbegovic did not pay the mojahedin, but the TWRA [Third World Relief Agency]…
As someone who witnessed what happened in Vienna, where I have lived since 1991, and in Zagreb, where I owned a company and an apartment in which I accommodated family members, refugees from Sarajevo, I can testify the following:
Elfatih Ali Hassanein, a close friend of Alija Izetbegovic’s and a former student in Belgrade, founded the TWRA “humanitarian organization” in Vienna on 12 February 1987. However, during the war, the TWRA’s main activities were carried out at this organization’s address in Zagreb, on Mandalicina Street, where Elfatih Ali Hassanein, Hasan Cengic [former B-H defence minister who was involved in arming the B-H Army] and Mustafa Ceric [then imam in Zagreb, currently reis ul ulema of the B-H Islamic Community] had their offices, and where Alija Izetbegovic stayed from time to time.
At the same time, the TWRA managed a news agency in Zagreb; this agency was broadcasting reports, video recordings, and television reports every day, thus contributing to spreading the truth [sic] in the Islamic world about the suffering and the persecution of the Bosnian Muslims. The TWRA was also publishing the Al Sahid monthly magazine in Arabic. This magazine, among other things, glorified the Bosniaks with similar views to those of Elfatih Ali Hassanein, that is, Alija Izetbegovic, Mustafa Ceric, and Hasan Cengic, as the most prominent leaders of jihad in Bosnia. The best illustration of the kind of friendly-ideological relationship that existed between the TWRA’s founder and chairman and Alija Izetbegovic is the statement by Elfatih’s brother, Sukarno Ali Hassanein, to the Sabrana Bosnia newspaper of 20 September 1995: “…Elfatih Ali Hassanein, PhD, has been an old friend of Mr Alija Izetbegovic’s since 1964. He is now an adviser to His Excellency Izetbegovic.”
…[I]t is another question how much…harm [TWRA] inflicted on Bosnia-Hercegovina (pronounced Islamism at the expense of the Bosniak identity, the spreading of the ideology of the Wahhabi Islam, the mobilization of the mercenary mojahedin in the Islamic countries.) One thing is certain: the Muslim, Bosniak, and the Bosnian interests, which are not necessarily always identical, got mixed up in this process, and religion was misused for political purposes during the war and in the post-war period.
…[T]he decisions were made in the TWRA organization in 1993 about a putsch within the Islamic Community, about forming an Islamic army….Alija Izetbegovic was…the engine of the TWRA organization, so, he was legally in the position, by his signature, to authorize and enable Elfatih Ali Hassanein and Hasan Cengic to collect donations for years, and thereby make unimaginable wealth. As the supreme head of the Army, he was also in a position to order General Rasim Delic to integrate the mojahedin unit into the B-H Army. Owing to Izetbegovic’s policy and tolerating the invasion by the Islamic ideologists and “benefactors” of the territory controlled by the Bosniaks, he contributed to the formation of dozens of Islamic “humanitarian organizations” with suspicious intentions (it has been proved that some of them were linked with Al-Qa’idah.)
What remains to be seen is whether the Bosniaks, by acting through the political parties and by electing good, European-oriented politicians in the next election, will solve their problems….The future will show if the Bosniak people…are capable of identifying the enemy within. This enemy is a corrupt, war-profiteering group, consisting of the disguised mentors of Islamic Wahhabism, which has been imposed on the Bosniaks by the ideologist[s] of the TWRA organization.
Reports about Bosnia’s dwindling Catholic population, meanwhile, were already coming out in 2006 and earlier. I blogged in 2010 on this painfully predictable result of Western interloping:
The Muslim population is growing in Bosnia to such an extent that Sarajevo is a “practically Muslim city”, Cardinal Franc Rodé said.
He said there were only 17,000 Catholics in Sarajevo, a city of 600,000.
Meanwhile, more than 100 mosques have been built in recent years, the prelate said.
“There is, in fact, the will to Islamise the region of Sarajevo.” […]
The Bosnian capital of Sarajevo, once a symbol of ethnic diversity, has become an entirely Muslim city, a Croat deputy in the Bosnian Parliament, Branko Zrno, said on Wednesday.
“Sarajevo definitely isn’t a multi-ethnic city, but the city of one group, the Bosniacs (Muslims), ” Zrno told local media.
He pointed out that Serbs and Croats in Sarajevo have no institutional protection, and continue to leave the capital.
Zrno echoed allegations from Bosnian Serb leaders, including Serb entity Prime Minister Milorad Dodik, that non-Muslims in Sarajevo suffered discrimination and were denied their rights. [Except when Dodik says it, it’s called “Serb propaganda” aimed at sowing divisions and pandering to “nationalists.”]
Zrno said that the Croatian presence in the city had been halved and that neither Croats nor Serbs held any important posts in local government.
Serbs claim that in the city of 400,000 only 7,000 Serbs have remained, compared to 160,000 before the 1992-1995 civil war.
The Serb claims have been supported by the Muslim President of the Bosnian Helsinki committee for human rights, Srdjan Dizdarevic, who said in a recent interview that Sarajevo had become a “monoethnic” city.
“Over 90 percent of Sarajevo inhabitants belong to only one group, the Bosniacs,” Dizdarevic told weekly Fokus.
“Ethnic cleansing in this city has, unfortunately, been successfully completed. If the will exists to reconstruct Bosnia on multiethnic principles, one should start with Sarajevo,” he concluded.
But as ethnic tensions deepened, the Muslim chairman of a three-man rotating state presidency, Haris Silajdzic, on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on the Serb entity.
Silajdzic repeated earlier claims that the Serb entity is a “symbol of genocide”…Bosnia’s majority Muslim leaders have continued to call the Serb entity a “genocidal creature” that should be abolished - a move strongly opposed by Serbs.
“Catholics Continue to Flee Bosnia a Decade After War Ended” (Universe Catholic weekly newspaper, Nov. 19, 2006)
Hopes have been dashed of an end to the exodus of Catholics from Bosnia-Herzegovina after the collapse of talks to amend the country’s post-war constitution.
That was the bleak picture painted by the country’s Franciscan provincial, Fr Mijo Dzolan… “Catholics are still discriminated against by the constitution of Dayton [the Balkans peace agreement reached in 1995].”
“Catholics do not have a good political or cultural frame to live in. They feel helpless. They have no confidence there will be an improvement and psychologically now they have no wish to participate in any improvement.”
Nor were refugees who fled their Bosnian homes during the conflict returning, added Fr Dzolan. “The reasons to leave were simple — fear and danger…”
Closing with a good, and rather all-encompassing, comment posted by Ruslan Tokhchukov, “EnragedSince1999,” triggered by the fleeing-Catholics item:
…As for the Nazi Croats, they worked glove-in-hand with the Muslims, US and NATO in the crucifiction of Serbia. Serves them right.
Contrary to the lies of our repugnant US, English, Swedish and other Western media, the Bosnian war was started by the Bosnian Muslims, not the Serbs. As early as January 1992, the Bosnian Serb leaders met with the Islamist Bosnian leader Izetbegovich in Lisbon and agreed to Bosnian independence on the condition they will have an autonomy within it. They just wanted control over their destiny. Having suffered for 500 years under the heel of the Muslims, they were loath to go back under the heel. Izetbegovich “agreed”, in keeping with the Muslim taqiyya deception practices, and then, 1 day later, backed out of this agreement. The Serbs warned that if Bosnia secedes from Yugoslavia without giving them cantonal self-rule, they will secede from Bosnia. The Muslims and Croats reacted with contempt.
Meeting in Graz, Austria, they decided to ride roughshod over the Serbs, calling a referendum on secession, which they were certain to win, because together they outnumbered the Serbs in Bosnia. In another desperate protest, the Serbs boycotted the referendum, but the Muslims and Croats pushed ahead with it anyway, on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday Mar. 1, 1992. On Sunday, a Bosnian Muslim sniper shot at a Serb wedding in Downtown Sarajevo and murdered Nikola Gardovic, the father of the groom. This had greatly disturbed the Serb community. And STILL the Serbs did not attack! So the Muslims and Croats decided to push the knife deeper. On March 26, 1992, Bosnian Muslim jihadis had massacred 11 Serb civilians in the Serb village Sijekovac outside Bosanski Brod, and the war was on, started by the Bosnian Muslims.
When our Western media vermin arrived in Bosanski Brod, they found there hordes of Islamic jihadis, foreign and domestic, with “Allahu Akbar” stiched to their arm flashes, vowing to conquer all of Serbia for Islam. Nazi Croats crossed the bridge from the Croat side of the Sava river and joined them, Sieg-Heiling and Heil-Hitlering. Suddenly, it was back to 1942! They were back to their Nazi alliance! Only this time, instead of Nazi SS, they were backed by the NATO and the US. Immediatelly, they had hearded thousands of Serb civilians into a rape-torture-murder camp in Celebici whose horrors exceded those of Auschwitz. Fathers forced to have sex with their daughters, and brothers with one another, under the threat of horrible torture, then horribly tortured and murdered anyway.
In Srebrenica, more than 3 years before the so-called “massacre of Bosnian men and boys” by the Serbs, an all-out torture-massacre of all Serb civilians was carried out by the Bosnian Muslims. Srebrenica officially was a “UN-designated safe haven” for civilians, where no combatants were allowed. And yet, NATO, the US and UN had maliciously allowed the deployment of the 28th division (DIVISION!) of the Bosnian Muslim army there, commanded by Gen. Naser Oric.
Using the UN “peacekeepers” as willing “human shields”, the Muslims attacked from behind their backs and destroyed ALL Serb villages around Srebrenica, more than 50 of them! They torture-murdered thousands of Serb men, women and children. In Feb. 1994, still more than a year before the massacre, Oric boasted about his exploits to the Christian Science Monitor reporter John Pomphret, playing HVS videotapes for him, showing bloody piles of mutilated bodies of murdered Serb civilians. Who had committed those atrocities? Oric and his 28th division, and also “mujaheddin” volunteers, including teenage cutthroats. It is they [whom] our abominable media still refer to as “Muslim men and boys” “massacred” by “the Serbs”.
And FROM THE START of the war, our media Goebbelses were lying about “200,000″ Muslims “murdered” by “the Sebs”. Sometimes, the figure would rise to “250,000″, then inexplicably drop down to 200,000 again. Now, even some of the media liars privately concede that the “200,000″ figure was “made up at a press-conference”….Indeed, out of the “8,000 Muslim men and boys” supposedly killed in Srebrenica, 3,000 have been already discovered alive and well in Srebrenica, registered on voter rolls, as reported by Mary [Mostert] in her blog “[Banner] of Freedom”. Our democratically elected governments of the US, England and other Western countries, and our so-called “free” Western media lied just about everything on the Bosnian war. Google “I ACCUSE;Professor Rajko Dolecek” that documents hundreds of those lies. This publication was never challenged, and is unchallengeable, because the author provides the names of our well-known “news-stars”, the dates, and the names of the publications or TV broadcasts, with exact quotes. And those are only a small part of lies.
It got even worse during the Kosovo war, when our media and government allegations of “Serb atrocities in Kosovo” turned out to be 100% lies…The only thing the Serbs were guilty of was that they tried to defend themselves and their families in their own country from the rabidly racist, sadistic, genocidal Kosovar Albanian KLA terrorists, after suffering the totally one-sided murderous terror campaign on them for over a decade.
And for that, our United States of America, England and other Western democracies bombed and destroyed Serbia, murdering Serb Christians, burning them and their children alive. They forced the Serb military and law enforcement out of Kosovo, and then let the KLA loose on the defenseless Serb citizens left without police protection. Kidnapping, rape, torture, mutilation, murder. Horrid destruction of almost the entire Serb community. Looting and destruction of 150 of the holiest ancient Serb Christian churches and monasteries, 100 of them on UNESCO World Heritage List! Mass butchery of captive young Serb men and women for organs, as acknowledged even by the anti-Serb UN procesutor Carla del Ponte in her memoires “The Hunt”. Sex slavery, including that of underage girls on a scale unheard since the time of the Ottoman Turkish conquest.
All that evil toward the Serb people, NOT ONE of whom had ever spilled one drop of blood of even one American, or Englishman in their entire history. Who had never done ANTYTHING to the United States or England except being their loyal allies in both world wars, and who had suffered horribly in both wars for their loyalty. They did not even fight back! Their only response to the American and English abusers were bitter words: “Otolye slezy” (”Our tears will rain on you”).
Indeed, this kind of pure evil does not go unpunished. And when I woke up to September 11, 2001, I knew: those are the hot tears of grieving Serbs raigning down on America.
Too bad, it was not Bill Clinton who was killed, or Hillary Clinton, or Al Gore, or Madeline Albright, or Tony Blair, or Jamie Shea, or George Robertson, or David Wiglby, or Robin Cook, or Gen. Wesley Clark, or Gen. Michael Short, or Morton Abramowitz, or William Kristol, or Bob Dole, or Joseph Lieberman, or John McCain, but nearly 3,000 of our regular American folks who, out of ignorance or apathy, let those criminals do evil in their name.
And who were the main actors in the 9/11 attacks? Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, the mastermind of 9/11. He was also one of those jihad volunteers the US and NATO aided and abetted in murdering Serb Christians in Bosnia.
9/11 hijackers Nawaf al-Khazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, who were aided by the US in jihad both in Bosnia AND Afghanistan!
Bin Laden’s al-Qaida, who, with the US aid, had a “big brotherly reunion” in Bosnia, getting back together after their US-backed jihad in Afghanistan. In Bosnia, they regrouped, reorganized, and got all fired-up for the Global Jihad. The fire our United States of America had set to the Balkans flared up right into her own face.
LONDON, Ontario, September 21, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a move to make “all students feel welcome” a Catholic high school in Ontario is about to open an exclusive Islamic prayer room at the request of Muslim students. The room, located right next to the school’s Catholic chapel, will have a newly installed carpet, prayer mats, and speakers. One critic has slammed the move as a “compromise” and “dilution” of authentic Catholic education.
“On top of the new homosexual clubs in Catholic schools, this is one more nail in the coffin of Catholic education,” Suresh Dominic of Campaign Life Catholics told LifeSiteNews.com. “Separate schools are supposed to provide an authentically Catholic environment, but they are now becoming indistinguishable from the public secular schools.”
While administration at Mother Teresa Catholic secondary school says it allowed the prayer space to be created after a group of Muslim students lobbied for it last year, the move comes in obedience to Premier Dalton McGuinty’s Equity and Inclusive Education (EIE) policy which mandates this type of “religious accommodation” for all schools, whether public or Catholic.
A “Catholic Version” of the EIE policy, ratified by Ontario Separate school boards, requires Catholics schools to provide “accommodation for students’ and staffs’ religious beliefs and practices”. In light of this requirement, the Toronto Catholic District School Board has for example mandated that “board schools will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individuals’ requirement for daily prayer by providing a location within the building for students and staff to participate in prayer”.
Ontario Education Minister Laurel Broten applauded the Muslim prayer chapel, saying that “religious accommodation determinations are made by the local school board” and that their decisions should be supported.
Principal Ana Paula Fernandes told SunNews that the Muslim youths are “members of our school community” and that the school “want[s] to ensure that all our students feel welcome, that they feel that they belong”. There are an estimated 25 Muslim youths in the student population of 1,400.
Fernandes said that, to ensure that all students feel welcome, it was “very important” that the prayer room was “included in the main building, and not tucked away somewhere”. [Nor should schools tuck away the soon-to-be-mandated gay bathhouses!]
But Dominic pointed out that providing other religions a place to pray inside Catholic school buildings, combined with other elements of the EIE policy such as the requirement for Gay Straight Alliances, will result in the identity of Catholic schools becoming more and more watered down.
“This not only sends a confusing message to students, but it dilutes what Catholic education is supposed to be about, namely to form children in a Catholic environment so that they can be Catholic,” Dominic told LifeSiteNews.
Dominic explained the potential for mixed messaging, “Allowing other religions to set up shop in Catholic schools also risks sending the message that perhaps Jesus is not really ‘the way, the truth, and the life’ as St. John tells us in the Gospel, but only one way amongst many”.
Dominic stressed that religious freedom in a civilized nation means for every religion to be able to have a place to pray and worship, but that a Catholic school building is a “place for Catholic prayer and worship, not a place for the prayer and worship of other religions”.
Some Catholic educators, such as Principal Fernandes, suggest that creating prayer spaces for other religions within Catholic school buildings will teach children about religious freedom and tolerance. […]
Then again, it is the Mother Teresa Catholic School. And Teresa did love those Palestinian kids way more than the Jewish ones. Plus, she was Albanian, to which Islam is a redundancy.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A 16-year-old high school sophomore who says she was ridiculed by her geometry teacher for wearing a Mitt Romney T-shirt returned to school Tuesday following a rally by cheering supporters. The teacher has also written a letter of apology that was read aloud to students.
Samantha Pawlucy hadn’t been back to Charles Carroll High School in the city’s Port Richmond section since last week. That’s when she and her family say she was mocked by her teacher for wearing the shirt supporting the Republican presidential candidate. She said the teacher questioned why she was wearing the shirt and called others in to the room to laugh at her.
DUDE, didn’t Ayn Rand write that scene like 75 years ago?
Pawlucy, whose family had expressed concern for her safety, returned Tuesday after a rally that featured supporters singing the national anthem and reading the First Amendment — as well as shouts of supporters calling “Go, Sam!” and “You’re great, Sam!”
The school’s principal read students the letter of apology from geometry teacher Lynette Gaymon on Tuesday.
“I’m very sorry for all the chaos and negative attention that has surrounded the school in the past couple of weeks,” she wrote. “What I meant as a light and humorous remark during class has developed into a huge conflict between students, faculty, parents and neighbors. My words were never meant to belittle Ms. Pawlucy, or cause any harm…”
Of course they were. And she was not light-hearted when she did this. She was f*cking pissed. We know these people.
Pawlucy wore the pink “Romney/Ryan” shirt to “dress-down” day on Sept. 28. She said that during class, Gaymon pointed out the shirt, questioned why she was wearing it and told her to leave the classroom. Gaymon, Pawlucy said, said it was a “Democratic” school and compared it to wearing a “KKK” shirt. […]
It doesn’t matter how many times these cliche humans have been depicted. They’re still happy to be a two-dimensional caricature that’s been done and done again on paper as much as in reality.
How many times do we have to say it? These people are believers in a one-party system.
And they’re too stupid to realize that’s what we have.
As George Soros assured the Europeans earlier this year: Don’t worry if Romney wins. He and Obama aren’t that different.
Indeed, Romney wouldn’t be the candidate if he were!
And that’s the whole game. Whatever the outcome, the winner of the election will be George Soros. Implementing Hitler’s New World Order, just like he implemented Hitler’s directive to confiscate Jewish furniture.
Meanwhile, the fact that this walking stereotype — Lynette Gaymon — is a geometry teacher is all the richer. Tenth Grade Geometry is where we had to read the book Flatland. In it, there is a one-dimensional creature — Point — which can’t conceive of there being anything bigger than itself or beyond its understanding. The two-dimensional creature — Line — sees Point talking and listening to itself, and being most impressed with itself. Line tries to communicate with Point and explain that there is a larger world out there, and that it is Line that is casting that ‘inexplicable’ shadow which Point sees but attributes to his own superpowers. All to no avail; even though Point can hear Line talking, it’s not possible for there to be anything beyond Point’s existence, and so the noise must be an extension of Point’s infinite abilities. There can be only Point.
Little does Line know that Form is desperately trying to reach him from the third dimension. To Line, a dimension beyond the second is inconceivable. So Form and Line are similarly frustrated, but Point is happy as can be.
And now we know all there is to know about teacher Lynette Gaymon.
Well, I guess it’s not just Kosovo, especially if one considers one of Kosovo’s henchmen — The Hague — where the evidence-destroying, witness-tampering and -threatening prosecutors are notoriously corrupt as well. Heck, they wouldn’t have qualified for the job if they weren’t.
The FINANCIAL — The EU mission in Kosovo said Thursday that Kosovo’s top anti-corruption prosecutor had been charged with abuse of authority for accepting bribes, the mission said.
An EU judge “confirmed the indictment against former special prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo (SPRK) and former head of the Anti-Corruption Task Force within the SPRK Nazmi Mustafi”, the EU rule of law mission EULEX said in a press release.
“The main allegation is that in collaboration with two other defendants, he took money to cancel the house arrest and terminate the investigation against the former liquidator of Bank of Kosovo,” EULEX spokesman Blerim Krasniqi told AFP.
Mustafi was arrested in April, but his indictment only became officially effective after its confirmation.
As EUbusiness reported, the prosecutor headed the special anti-corruption task force established by Kosovo prime minister Hashim Thaci in 2010 to deal with high profile corruption cases.
EULEX was launched in Kosovo just months after its declaration of independence from Serbia in 2008 and has the power to step in and prosecute cases considered too sensitive for the local judiciary.
Corruption continues to be a serious problem in Kosovo, with international and local watchdogs warning that Pristina was lacking the political will to fight it.
On Transparency International’s 2011 corruption perception index, Kosovo was ranked 112th of 183 countries.
That’s actually impressive. I would have thought it would rank 184.
Let’s see if this one doesn’t also wind up dead by yet another case of a Kosovo Suicide.
Hopefully, though, what will increasingly happen is that the ones going down will start pointing fingers at the other — whether to make prosecution more difficult or to not go down alone — and it will expose the entire “state” for the sham that it is. After all, the “prime minister” is a notorious murderer.
I knew there was a reason that I respected Bob Dylan. In addition to defending Israel in the song “Neighborhood Bully,” and in addition to not myopically joining the Vietnam protest movement the way every other artist did at the time, he apparently also knows something about the Balkans.
And that’s something Croatia is not used to. Which explains this reaction from Croatia when someone dares to know its past:
Music legend annoys Croats fans in an interview by comparing Serbs and Croats to blacks and whites - and to Jews and Nazis.
The legendary US singer and songwriter has ruffled feathers in Croatia by comparing Croats to American Whites and German Nazis in the course of a discourse on American politics.
Commenting on still tense relations between African Americans and Whites, Dylan said: “If you’ve got a slave master or the [Ku Klux] Klan in your blood, blacks can sense that … Just like Jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood”.
Dylan made the remarks in an interview with the music magazine Rolling Stone.
Speaking on the occasion of the release of his 35th album “Tempest”, ahead of the November presidential elections, Dylan went on to describe America as a country formed on the backs of slaves.
“If slavery had been given up in a more peaceful way, America would be far ahead today,” he concluded.
The comment about Croats has caused numerous comments on websites that published the interview, prompting some to accuse the musician of not knowing much about history and politics in the Balkans.
By which they mean not knowing the version he was supposed to have bought along with the rest of the world.
While I commend Dylan on apparently knowing what Croats did to Serbs, in the 40s and the 90s, and drawing apt parallels, I can’t agree that blacks can sense a slave master in someone’s lineage. After all, they couldn’t sense it in Barack Obama, whose white half comes from slaveholders, and whose black half comes from slave traders. (Or perhaps they did sense it and just didn’t care. Obama voter Dylan wasn’t able to sense it either.)
I also can’t agree that Jews can sense Nazi blood, or else they wouldn’t support the Democratic Party, Barack Obama, or the notion that Arabs too want to “all just get along” (when in fact they were tutored by the Nazis). Nor would they defend the king of the New World Order, George Soros (recall how prominent Jews jumped on Glenn Beck when he talked about Soros confiscating Jewish furniture during WWII — something for which Soros has never expressed any public remorse).
As for Serbs sensing Croatian blood, this they have learned to do for the sake of survival. But it was always the Croats who had the finest-tuned sniffer for Serb blood, looking for the slightest whiff of Serbness in someone who might otherwise pass for Croatian. They look for clues in language, place of origin, a life timeline, and so on. And if they do sniff out Serbness, they turn a cold shoulder. At best.
Meanwhile, talk about comic timing! The Vatican will regret its timing of the following, once it hears from its ruffled Croatian flock — whose back the Vatican has had even through their WWII genocide of the Serbs and their 1990s revival of Nazism:
Bob Dylan — who will be hitting the stage of the Saddledome on Oct. 10 — has the blessing of the Vatican, with a reviewer from its official newspaper comparing the singer’s voice to “the finest pastry.”
ROME — The Vatican’s official newspaper has given a glowing review to Bob Dylan’s new album, in the latest attempt to broaden its appeal beyond the rarefied confines of the Holy See.
Listening to the tracks on Tempest was like “biting into a cake made from the finest pastry,” L’Osservatore Romano said.
The newspaper, which counts cardinals and clerics among its readers, devoted two articles to the album, which was released earlier this month.
It added that Dylan’s voice remains “unmistakable”, despite the fact that his career spans nearly half a century and he turned 71 in May. […]
